Microsoft has rolled out a new Windows 11 Insider Preview that significantly improves accessibility and input options, particularly for users who rely on voice typing and pen functionality.
The latest build, designated as 26120.3941 (KB5055634), is now available to Beta Channel users running Windows 11 24H2, introducing several noteworthy enhancements to the operating system.
Among the most prominent updates is a new customizable profanity filter for the voice typing feature. Users can now choose whether spoken profanity appears masked with asterisks or is transcribed verbatim. This option can be easily configured by launching voice typing with the Windows key + H shortcut, clicking the settings icon, and toggling the filter according to preference.
Pen users with compatible devices will appreciate the new “Click to Do” functionality, exclusively available on Copilot+ PCs. This feature allows users to configure their pen’s shortcut button to launch Click to Do, or alternatively add the application to the pen menu for quick access.
Windows Search has also received an upgrade specifically for Copilot+ PC users. Those who sign into OneDrive with work or school accounts will notice that the Windows taskbar search now returns results based solely on text found within cloud files, excluding photo content. This targeted approach helps users locate relevant documents more efficiently.
Accessibility options have been reorganized in the quick settings flyout, with assistive technologies now logically grouped into vision, hearing, motor, and mobility categories. This restructuring makes it easier for users with specific needs to locate and activate appropriate tools.
The update addresses numerous issues that affected previous builds, including problems with blank app windows, Windows Hello facial recognition failures, and touch keyboard malfunctions. Additional fixes resolve Quick Assist functionality for non-administrator users and correct issues where certain applications would fail to launch due to missing virtual machine components.
The preview build is currently available only to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel, with wider release expected in the coming months as Microsoft continues to refine Windows 11’s feature set.
