Mahindra has launched its new electric car e2o Plus in India. The new e2o Plus electric car provides seating for four people and also offers a number of improvements, including more range and faster charging, compared to its predecessor e2o.
There are three variants being offered for Mahindra e2o Plus. The P4 variant is priced at 5.46 lakh; the P6 costs Rs 5.95 lakh, and P8 will cost Rs 8.46 Lakh.
The e2o Plus body is made out of ABS panel and not pressed metal. The versatile character of the panel helps in molding it to form a wide variety of products and therefore keeping the weight of the car down. The owners also get an option of replacing body panels in case of a dent or bump.
The e2o Plus sports a 210Ah lithium-ion battery pack, which produces 25PS of power and 70Nm of torque in P4 and P6 trims, and 40PS power and 90Nm torque in P8. The P8 trim can achieve a top speed of 85 kmph and has a range of 140 km. For others, the maximum speed is 80 kmph and range of 110 km.
The P4 and P6 trims can be recharged in 6 hours on a single phase 3kW 16-amp charger, while the P8 trim takes 9 hours. However, with the three-phase 10kW 32-amp charger, the P8 trim take 1 hour 30 minutes to recharge up to 95 per cent capacity. The P4 and P6 trims take 75 minutes with that charger to charge up to 95% capacity.
The new model has drum brakes at the rear and disc brakes up front. The cabin volume has gone up by over 150-litres compared to the regular e2o. The cabin space is now almost equal to that of a Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 or even a Hyundai i10. The kerb weight of the e2o Plus P8 is 991 kg, and for others, it is 939kg. The e2o Plus is 3590mm long, 1575mm wide and 1585mm high, with ground clearance of 170mm and a wheelbase of 2258mm. The headlamp cluster is similar to that of e2o. However, there is now +ME badge on the either sides of the car. Other features of the car include remote telematics and diagnostics, smartphone connectivity, regenerative braking, integrated rear spoiler, 3D grill up front, and spacious interiors. Ten computers on-board handle things like A/C and warns you about driving range. Users can connect with the car using an app even when they are not driving. The vehicle comes loaded with features like a GPS enabled navigation system. The touch-screen monitor is responsive and easy to use. An SOS feature called revive gives an additional range of 7-10 km if battery power dips below 10 per cent.
