S Deepthi is the topper of ISC Class 12 exam 2017 in Uttarakhand. She got 99% marks to get first rank in Uttarakhand and third rank at all-India level.
S Deepthi missed the chance of repeating the story of 2014 All India Topper Bhuvanya Vijay by just 2 marks. Three years back, Bhuvanya Vijay, student of Saint Joseph, was the all India topper in ICS Class 12 exams.
ISC 2017 all-India topper got just 2 marks more than S Deepthi. Deepthi, a student of Convent of Jesus and Mary, got 395 marks, 2 less than all-India topper Ananya Maiti. Deepthi got 100 marks in computer science, and 99 marks in physics and maths. Because of less marks in English, she was not able to top at all-India level.
Kolkata girl Ananya Maity emerged as the class XII all India topper with 99.5%. Pune’s Muskan Abdulla Pathan and Bengaluru’s Ashwin Rao jointly topped class X exams with 99.4% each.
Deepthi is however fully satisfied with her 3rd rank at all-India level and 1st rank in Uttarakhand.
CISCE results were declared on Monday, May 29. In both the ICSE and ISC results, girls outshined boys yet again. Class 12 saw a pass percentage of 96.47, while 98.53% students passed class X. In the class 12 examination, the pass percentage of girls is 97.73 per cent while that of the boys is 95.39 per cent.
A total of 73,633 students from 988 schools had appeared for the class XII examination.
The second position in ISC Class 12 was jointly shared by four students—Ayushi Srivastava (Lucknow), Devesh Lakhotia (Kolkata), Rishika Dhariwal (Mumbai) and Keerthana Srikanth (Gurgaon)—who have scored 99.25 per cent each.
Five students—Ananth Kothari (Kolkata), Deepthi S (Dehradun), Sougata Chowdhury (Kolkata), Vedanshi Gupta and Yukta Meena (Lucknow)—jointly bagged the third position with 99 per cent marks.
