US crime agency owner Ms. Pat Brown believes UK Police is “wasting time and money” on the search for Madeleine, and insisted that “Madeleine is dead.”
Ms. Brown’s accusation comes less than 24 hours after Portuguese crime expert Moita Flores voiced similar unfounded claims, stating that he believes the missing British child Madeleine McCann, actually died in her family’s rented apartment in Portugal.
Madeleine McCann, was a 3-year-old British child, who was reported to be missing from her bedroom at a Praia de Luz resort in the Algarve. The incident occurred about 10 years ago, on May 3, 2007. Maddie’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann had informed the police about the missing of their child.
The UK Police has been investigating the case for the past 10 years, but is no closer to finding her.
Moita Flores has been following the case of Madeleine McCann for the past 10 years, and worked with the Policia Judiciaria to search the missing child.
Moita Flores told the Portugese website Flash:
“Maddie died in that apartment, I have no doubt.”
“Why this child when there are so many others who have disappeared?”
He claimed that the abduction theory of a kidnapper entering the child’s bedroom through a window is flawed.
“It would have been impossible to get through a window with a child,” Moita said.
Responding to Moita’s claims, McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell told The Sun Online: “Kate and Gerry will not be fueling any of this pure speculation with any comment whatsoever.”
A source close to the family told the site: “There is no proof that Madeleine died in the holiday apartment or anywhere else, and until there is any shred of evidence her parents believe their daughter could still be alive.”
They then said of Mr Flores: “This person is presenting himself as a criminal expert and is regurgitating claims made by Mr Amaral, he is repeating all the old assertions it seems for shock value.”
The Mr Amaral referred to is Goncalo Amaral, the investigative officer who led the search for Maddie, and later wrote a book, saying that Madeleine’s parents had faked an abduction story.
The McCanns tried to sue Mr Amaral for libel, but didn’t get success.
Ms. Brown, 62, runs a crime agency in the US. She blasted Scotland Yard’s £11million Operation Grange probe into the case.
She told news.com.au:
“There’s no point spending all of this money as nothing they do is going to make that child alive.”
“When I analysed (Madeleine’s) case, it led me to believe evidence does not support an abduction.”
“An abduction was extremely unlikely based on the amount of time, evidence at the scene, and every other shred of evidence there has ever been.”
She added: “It’s my belief the body was moved to a desolate location and will never be found.”
Ms Brown said: “There are other children missing in the UK who aren’t getting this attention that the money should have been spent on.”
Meanwhile police in the Algarve is still searching for a man who is believed to have some important information regarding the case. This man was initially interviewed ten years ago when the three-year-old vanished.
