The 41st Annual Chandigarh Sangeet Sammelan will commence from October 26 in auditorium of Strawberry Fields High School in Sector 26. The three-day event will be organized by Indian National Theatre.
According to DailyPioneer, Some outstanding artists from different parts of the country will give their performance at this festival.
On first day, Ojesh Pratap Singh will present Hindustani vocal music, after which Vidushi Shruti Sadolikar will present her rendition in Hindustani vocal music.
On the second day, October 27, Noopur Gadgil and Sanjeev Chimmalgi will present vocal Hindustani music from 6 pm onwards.
Vinita Gupta said that on the concluding day on October 28 at 11 am , Vidhushi Jyoti Hegde will present a Rudra Veena concert.
Last year, the 40th Annual Chandigarh Sangeet Sammelan started on Oct 27. The festival saw some outstanding young classical singers from different parts of the country performing at the festival. On the first day, Mandar Gadgil and Manjiri Alegaonkar took centre-stage. Gadgil is a disciple of Pt. Vijay Koparkar and has been associated with music since the past 12 years. Manjiri Alegaonkar took earlier training in music from her father Mohan Rao Karvey. On the second day of the Sammelan renowned singers Saylee Talwarkar, Dr Alankar Singh and Sanhita Nandi performed for the audience.
On last day, Paromita Mukherjee presented a violin recital, followed by a performance by Shashwati Mandal, an accomplished singer of the Gwalior style
“The Sammelan is a labour of love, and will be a treat for all those who appreciate and love music,” said Vinita Gupta, Secretary, Indian National Theatre, according to Indian Express.
The festival was held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Sector 27, Chandigarh.
