The lucky Irish family from the Leinster area that had recently won €9.4m Lotto jackpot collected their prize on Friday.
This family, who wish to remain anonymous, had bought the golden ticket on August 26th from the Spar on Talbot Street, Dublin. The next day, they discovered that they have won the jackpot. The delighted family waited for almost two weeks to collect their prize. According to them, they needed a little time to absorb the feeling of having won a huge jackpot.
“We are absolutely delighted with this win. This will certainly make our lives easier and will secure the future for us all,” the family said.
“We plan to remain low key and we don’t intend changing our lifestyle dramatically. We want everything to continue as normal as possible.”
According to the Independent, the person who won €2m jackpot has also made contact with National Lottery headquarters. This person had purchased the winning ticket from Coughlan’s Gala store on Quinlan Street, Limerick.
This year, eight individuals have won the Lotto jackpot, with prizes exceeding a mega €50 million.
“I am delighted for the winners of the €9.4 million jackpot and I wish them luck for the future and hope all their dreams come true,” said National Lottery CEO, Dermot Griffin.
“We are also looking forward to having the winners of this week’s Lotto jackpot in our Winners Room.”
“This has been a very busy period for Lotto wins which is fitting given that we are celebrating our 30th anniversary this year.”
