On Tuesday, a 3.8 intensity earthquake hit the hilly state of Uttarakhand. The center of this earthquake was located in Salna village, Chamoli district.
People in Chamoli and Uttarakashi districts felt tremors, and came out of their houses.
There was no loss of lives or damage to property reported from these districts.
In February this year, an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter was felt across the state of Uttarakhand. The epicentre of the earthquake was located close to Pipalkoti in Uttarakhand, and at a depth of about 20 km. Tremors were felt across northern India, including Delhi and NCR, and Dehradun city, the capital of Uttarakhand. People in Mussoriee, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Saharanpur, Pithoragarh, Mathura, Rishikesh, Shamli and Chandigarh also felt tremors.
Tremors were felt for about 30 seconds at some places.
